Being unusable is about more than not knowing what to click. It starts with incomprehensible text and taxonomy that present hurdles in searching for elements (buttons, links) in the interface and to correctly guessing the effect of using those elements.

By "#usable" I mean that you can #browse #profiles (instead of just beeing presented with what the #algorithm thinks you might be interested in, is profile text centred (and not picture centred), #search for #profile #text items, just be able to (send and) receive #messages even if I have not "liked back", ... -- #alovoa actually is pretty #unusable as I find it)

Please don't replace #GUI widgets with images. This is supposed to be a sliding on and off switch. An image replaces the check box. But if that image doesn't load, the result becomes #unusable

Has anyone else noticed that the #Apple #SpokenContent #ScreenReader has become #unusable?

Since #iOS 15, #Siri has lost the ability to #synchronize the spoken content of a webpage with what the screen reader highlights, which is supposed to be the entire point of the #accessibility feature

Now the reader is grayed out

Maybe it’s my (much larger than average) font size, or because I use the #DarkNight #app, but now I have to highlight the specific text I want to be read & command it to read

#Discord is a whole 'nother kettle of fish; the accumulated #knowledge of many, many #communities is getting #locked into this walled garden, where it is essentially #unsearchable and #unusable by anyone without an account.

I haven't even been able to look at anything there, because of their brutally stupid "We detected something abnormal so we need your email address before you can view the site!" I get.

I can’t believe the awful user interface changes with Apple watchOS 10.0. It is horrible for old people. Apple totally changed the UI without warning or any training docs. #Newsie.social has been down for the past 72 hours with only occasional, intermittent #connectivity. It is #unusable at this point. I'm not sure if this toot will even be posted, but it looks like I'm going to have to abandon Newsie for a new host if I want to continue using #Mastodon. It sucks, too, because I've been a monthly contributor with the hopes that they would properly maintain the service and uptime, but that sadly doesn't seem to be the case. EFF peeps giving out privacy advice can't even bring themselves to diss Chrome or recommend Firefox. FF will automatically store cookies+cache in separate silos... making the issue of rejecting cookies moot.

But #EFF expert in The Atlantic says don't reject all cookies.... be moderate by picking and choosing the cookies you block. #unusable #advice #falsechoice #derp
