I am disappointed with 2m #Wimo #XQuad #hamradio #satellite antenna assembly experience. The radiator needs fixing with a self-tapping nut, vertical access to which is obstructed by the vertical radiator, so one can screw it in under some angle, resulting in not too firm fix. Oh, and the self tapping screws aren't of common "philips" (cross-head) type but a rather more exotic T15(?). Net result: a damaged screwdriver head and loose radiator. Not quite what one would expect for that price 🤬

Endlich gibt es Detail zum #Yaesu #FTX1 😀 soll ab Mitte Juni bei #Wimo verfügbar sein. Aber bitte was hat man sich in Japan bei der Preisfindung gedacht? Die 10W Version liegt mit 1850€ aktuell 400€ über dem IC705 und die 100W Version (10W Einheit plus angedockte 100W PA) liegt bei 2400€. Mal sehen ob wir hier nur eine Abschöpfungsstrategie sehen und es bald "Cash back" Aktionen gibt. Auch spannen was bei #ICOM passieren wird?

Musste ja heute beim #wimo Newsletter etwas lachen. nicht über Wimo aber über #Icom. Der IC-718 ist zurück (Markteinführung war das Jahr 2000!)😂 Echt jetzt? für 918€ und das ohne Tuner? Ich verstehe die Marketing Leute bei Icom (allerdings auch bei Yeasu) nicht. Wo soll der sich jetzt genau im Vergleich zum IC-7300, FT-710 oder FT-891 positionieren? Als Einstiegsgerät würde ja ein solches Gerät durchaus Sinn machen aber dann IMHO bis ~600€ #amateurfunk

Activating the #SOTA summit OZ/OZ-004, ‘Sorring Låddenhøj’ - only the third VHF activation ever of the summit and last time I activated it was in 2016.
Using a small logperiodic from #wimo, I managed to get 7 QSOs, one of them 40km away. Not bad! 😃
As a small proof-of-location I brought my old GPS-based UTC and Locator clock, my first #Arduino project, built exactly 10 years ago. A project which, btw, caused me to by my first oscilloscope 🙂
