@JoergA @sigmasternchen Yes, I know #TotalCommander (I even bought it and had to pay customs because you can't cancel the delivery of a physical disk despite downloading it 😬).

But sometimes two windows aren't enough and tabs make things much clearer. Sure, the TC also has bookmarks, but some things are quicker and easier with #WindowsExplorer, so I use both tools depending on the task.

Is that a new Windows 11 enhancement or, are you just happy to see me?

Falls #Microsoft mit #Recall dann auch nach Fehlern (z.B. im #WindowsExplorer) sucht, wäre das doch tatsächlich positiv.

(Ich arbeite an einem neu aufgesetzten Windows 11 in einer VM. Das Kopieren von vielen kleinen Dateien ist unsäglich langsam. Das Adressfeld des Windows Explorer klappt immer wieder auf, obwohl es nicht sollte.)

Is there any FOSS #FileManager for Windows 10 that isn't super slow and unreliable, has double panels and tabs?

I've tried #Files, #Spacedrive and #DoubleCommander but each of them either can't do basic operations without crashing or requiring me to wait a few seconds.

I thought switching from HDD to M.2 SSD will help - I did not.

#WindowsExplorer sucks - no dual view, no tabs... But all other options fig. make me want to punch the screen.

For anyone having high RAM usage with Explorer, does it make it better if you turn on launch folder windows in a separate process and reboot? For me, this has made it much better. On my AMD Mini PC with 32 gb RAM, Explorer is only using about 35 mb of RAM. #Windows #Explorer #WindowsExplorer
