May have just killed my iigs while trying to troubleshoot the 3.5" drive. I plugged interface cable directly into the ribbon port. The 3.5 drive ejected nonstop until i quickly powered off the iigs, and now it wont boot at all.

I can't explain it, but Print Shop *deserves* this font.

Rebuilding an Apple sc20 hard drive with bluescsi, but its depressingly quiet. Has anyone made something to simulate the hum of a mechanical HDD?

If you’re as old as I am, this is a core memory (sound on). I’m playing with AppleWorks GS to use as a database and it is surprisingly useful in 2025.

Usually, original disks weren't "flippy", but there were cases where even Apple shipped these from the factory.

The A2Pico is tiny! See how small compared to a clone of an Apple Super Serial Card.

The one I have is currently configured as a mass storage device, but I will try other firmwares in the future.

Bought it from here:

I just finished posting about the eccentric and highly obscure Apple II game The Maze. I just discovered something new that I've updated the post with, but it's a hilarious enough side effect I'm making a thread here.

Specifically, the game gives you a "diploma" when you win, and it accounts for things like how many moves you took, if you asked for hints, and if you checked your inventory (which does, yes, cause damage to your score). 🧵

The Maze for Apple II continues, as I examine some game-theoretic ideas behind map placement, finally get by the wine enthusiast, and drive a Model A.

My exploration of The Maze (Apple II, 1981) continues as I defeat the "beast", outwit a giant mousetrap, break my eyeglasses, and get stumped by a pushy wine snob.
