Many people conflate #confidence with #arrogance when you make an #assertion based upon #evidence they do not recognize or understand, or whose existence of which they are ignorant.

To be #arrogant is not merely to assert #superiority, it is to so do without merit or basis. If you are right, you are right, but if you think you are right, you’d be wise to double-check before asserting your dominance.
