@arstechnica I was considering the Nautilus as it's about the right size for my needs. Then I read that Ford chose to manufacture it in China and ship it back. Then I said NOPE.
I wasn't and still am not thrilled about all the screens in it. I prefer less screen, or no screen at all.
Opted for a '24 Aviator instead, built in USA in Chicago and still has one small screen. #lincoln #ford #aviator #nautilus

Amy Johnson lands in Darwin, Northern Territory, becoming the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia (she left on May 5 for the 11,000 mile flight).

She flew in the Second World War as a part of the Air Transport Auxiliary and disappeared during a ferry flight. The cause of her death has been a subject of discussion over many years.

Bad weather forces Amelia Earhart to land in a pasture in Derry, Northern Ireland, and she thereby becomes the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She then received the United States Distinguished Flying Cross.

On Saturday, 21 May 1932, Amelia Earhart was on her second Atlantic crossing when she was forced to land in a field near Derry (Londonderry) in her "Little Red Bus". Ireland of the Welcomes was to the fore in the Irish Independent account on Monday, 23 May 1932: "... the hospitality she had received after making her forced descent, for two minutes later she was in the cottage of Mr and Mrs Peter McCallion, who put their home at her disposal. Almost at the same time Mr Gallagher arrived and persuaded Miss Earhart to accompany him to his home, where Mrs Gallagher had tea already prepared." There was no account of how the McCallions took to having the Gallaghers scoop them in what must have been the tea party of their lives! As <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/24101413@N03/">Irish251</a> points out in the comments below: "Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Vega 5B is now preserved at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. A now forgotten early #aviator and #vaudeville mind reader, Hope Eden, created an absolute sensation when she took a whirlwind shopping expedition in #Albany in 1919 – Taylor Swift might not get more attention.

Eden may have been the first entertainer to regularly travel from gig to gig in her own airplane – at a time when landings were made in fields.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, French aviator and writer.

He was born in Lyon on 29th June 1900 and disappeared in the Mediterranean Sea on 31st July 1945 during a reconnaissance flight.

He demonstrated both courage in his air missions during the second world war and sensibility in his literary works, including its most famous one, "Le Petit Prince".

I drew him with graphite pencils and notably kept strokes for the edges, which is less realistic but better defines contours (like in the ligne claire style).
