When a user story generates more than 3-4 rules during Example Mapping, it's probably too big! 🐘
This technique doesn't just clarify requirements—it helps identify when stories should be split.
Check out my article for practical tips on implementing Example Mapping in your Scrum team:

This can only lead to story point inflation and job loss. We learned nothing from the story point tariffs of the 1930s.

#AI and #BacklogRefinement.
One of the co-creators of Scrum, Jeff Sutherland, has recently started to talk about using AI to speed up Product Backlog Refinement. Ugh.
For a few years, I’ve felt that Jeff has lost the thread when it comes to the fact that software development work is done by real people, aka humans. When we use an AI (LLM cough, cough) to speed the process, we must ask what we’ve given up. (Hint: Twice the Work, Half the Time).

Reminder: A #PRODUCT #BACKLOG #Refinement is about what the name suggests:
Refine the Backlog!
Don't focus sole on writing new Items or even adding implementation details to existing ones at that stage.
Check if the Backlog reflects your goal, vision and your user's needs!
And most of it all:
DELETE! The refinement is also the time to sort out obsolete stuff. Get rid of waste and ballast, here!
A Backlog MUSTN'T contain dozen of Items!
