#basilisk

Hello everyone, I'm looking into Basilisk, which is a program that allows you to have conversations with multiple LLMs and handle them all in one place if you have API keys for those LLMs. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to import my entire conversation history with, say, ChatGPT into Basilisk. There's very little documentation right now, and I'd like to learn more in general about how to use it. What are, as another example, conversation profiles? This program looks really interesting; and as I consult an AI regularly for different things and keep an organic conversation going, I think I'd find it very useful rather than having to navigate through the web all the time. Thanks all.

:firefox:

Another one ticked off the list (still WIP, but at least I've finally automated my builds):

@oblomov I use #PaleMoon as my primary #browser. I use YouTube a lot (both for Touhou music arranges and long-form videos) but thanks to VORAPIS‘ userscript (though I use the “TurboLauncher” XPI for “legacy Firefox” which works better than putting it in Greasemonkey) making the YT frontend lighter for the browser to handle I can keep using it in Pale Moon. :akko_thumbup:

For Facebook and Discord I use SubWebView which allows me to open a single-process Chromium inside Pale Moon via NPAPI (I think that might the newest publicly available NPAPI plugin written yet lol).

I used to put both sites in #Floorp which was based in Firefox ESR (128 was the last) before it moved to the rapid stable release in version 12. I disliked the move and tried to delay the upgrade from version 11 until this month, but whatever, at least tabs below address bar is a built-in option there now and my tabs bar is no longer so buggy that it prevented me from adding a SeaMonkey-style close tab button. I lament the loss of the “Open in external browser” context menu option though when right-clicking links… :akko_sad2:

I still use Floorp sometimes. When I don’t have PM opened yet and I need to quickly check Facebook or Discord I just use Floorp. Another use-case for me is when I have to browse the MDN, which is broken in Pale Moon. I still haven’t figured out a workaround for it frustratingly enough. :akko_angry: I suppose it makes sense though that a Mozilla website works best in a Mozilla browser, just as a Google website works best in a Google browser. :akko_think2:

For WebRTC (joining Discord watch parties, and if I’m still studying in university probably Google Meet as well) and DRM (watching Netflix) I use #Edge. I have been considering about replacing it with #Vivaldi but the jank I’ve experienced in the latter is discouraging me lol. :akko_derp:

I also regularly use #Basilisk which is 32-bit. It’s synced entirely with my Pale Moon (except for history which trips my sync storage quota), and I use it for add-on development (its frontend still has differences with Pale Moon, even if you install the Australium theme and switch to “tabs on top” mode in the latter), for 32-bit NPAPI plugins I need or want to try, and visiting stuff ( :akko_wink: ) I don’t want kept in my Pale Moon’s history.

Oh and I also do different profiles in the same browser, but only for testing stuff in a fresh profile (i.e. default settings and no extensions). Sometimes the fresh profile is used for add-on development but it is also for reproducing website problems reported by forum users, because often they turn out to be add-ons or modified preference or about:config interfering with the browser’s normal operation. Safe mode is sometimes not enough (and more intended anyway for when you bork the browser itself so hard, not for diagnosing websites). Oh and if it’s a reproducible crash a fresh profile would also avoid me having to worry about privacy-sensitive data being in the crash dump I upload to the FTP.

I might be the weirdest “secret fourth thing” in this poll after it ends haha :akko_derp:

Drawtober 2025 Prompt 15. Glitter.

Dip pen and nib, the ink is Diamine's Walnut. Usual ink straight to paper. And while it is a perfectly servicable drawing ink, a dark sepia - it is an unfortunate ink to come up in the inkvent calendar on the day that Glitter is the prompt. *sigh* So it's the first prompt that I feel I have not really stepped up to the plate properly in execution. The deadly glitter I was imagining in this basilisk's eye I don't think really comes across. Maybe if I put a wash over everything except the eye? But I wasn't brave enough to do it.

Well maybe it doesn't really mean it. My basilisk/cockatrice usually wear sunglasses anyway because they tend to be friendly types.
The people at my Community Shed's art group burst into laughter when I referred to it as a killer chook.

Last time I tried experimenting with dramatic slowdown on impacts - rubbish. This time I've tried speeding up - still rubbish?

Got a wave manager in place so going back to setting up enemy waves and ordering them by difficulty. I love the super-fast missiles that create a game of chicken with the basilisk ability.

I've added a notification to the main menu to make the player aware that they can afford to buy a new ability. Maybe too subtle but its in for now.
