Today in Labor History November 5, 1916: The Everett Massacre occurred in Everett, Washington. 300 IWW members arrived by boat in Everett to help support the shingle workers’ strike that had been going on for the past 5 months. Prior attempts to support the strikers were met with vigilante beatings with axe handles. As the boat pulled in, Sheriff McRae called out, “Who’s your leader?” The Wobblies answered, “We’re all leaders!” The sheriff pulled his gun and said, “You can’t land.” A Wobbly yelled back, “Like hell we can’t.” Gunfire erupted, most of it from the 200 vigilantes on the dock. When the smoke cleared, two of the sheriff’s deputies were dead, shot in the back by their own men, along with 5-12 Wobblies on the boat. Dozens more were wounded. The authorities arrested 74 Wobblies. After a trial, all charges were dropped against the IWW members. The event was referenced in John Dos Passos’s “USA Trilogy.”

Scuttlebutt Scuttlebrau Lager: Out of the can Scuttlebrau produces a hefty amount of khaki-tan head, resting on a pool of clear amber. Receding, there remains nothing to say for lacing.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of cooking herbs, honey, spiciness, and some rich earth.
Sipping, there is a dandelion-like earthen sharpness, along with some yeastiness (makin to dough), followed by some toasted bread. Overall, Scuttlebrau has a medium mouthfeel, some alcoholic warmth, and a lingering earthen sharpness.

Scuttlebutt - Silver City Cross Sound Kolsch: Out of the can Cross Sound produces an invigorated amount of off-white head, resting on a bed of pale gold haziness. Receding, there remains a thin blanket of lacing on the surface, and a tattered curtain of lacing inside the glass.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of lemon citrus, cooking herbs, barnyard hay.
Sipping, much of what was in the aroma appears along with some floral and a bit of earthen bitterness. Overall, Cross Sound has a mild to medium mouthfeel, some alcoholic warmth, and a lingering semi-dry character that is concluded with some sharpness.

The more I read, the more the #Everett interpretation of #quantum mechanics makes the most sense. When a particle is in a quantum superposition and another particle that interacts with it in a way where its state depends on which of the many states the first particle is in, they become entangled. That doesn't cause collapse (a fiction), the second particle is now in a superposition, too. Now, if those particles interact with other particles, they become entangled, too. 1/n
