One thing I have found about the Fediverse is it kind of sucks when it comes to old posts you might want to see and react to that didn't get seen by your account or instance as they are to young.

It would be amazing if there was a way for your account to 'see' the old posts from instances by simply searching the original post url or something.

Is there any work around for this, I found Boosting the original post on Mastodon is alright but what do you do for Lemmy stuff?

@chad when I first joined the #fediverse I signed up with mastodon.social because I didn’t see a obvious home anywhere else. I see that a lot of people I follow are in mstdn.ca.

Should I join mstdn.ca and why? I’ve never gotten a good explanation on the difference between being affiliated with an instance versus just following people and hashtags you are interested in.

Okay here's a thing I need explained to me; You can verify yourself by putting an element on your website which corresponds with something on your masto profile.

What is to stop say, a bad actor, from using wix or github pages or something to verify themselves, appear legitimate, and only be found out by the people who bother to check the link? Keep in mind I don't think I've seen any verified profiles on here.
