Started a side project Speak, a education oriented TTS inference server. It's using model Spark-TTS at this moment, supports voice clone, streaming, long text.
Project Conscious has added feature flashcard with the FSRS algorithm, and integrated the Speak API to support multi-speaker speech. You can now listen to your flashcard with as many type of voices as you need.

My son got a GoPro for Christmas. He asked me, "Dad, do you have a #flashcard I can use for my new camera?"

My old 32GB #microSD that I paid over $200 for years ago had errors so I went online to buy a new one:

$39 for 512GB.

I consciously know flash memory #prices halve every year but never in my WILDEST DREAMS did I expect half a TB for the price of a light LA dinner - so small I could accidentally swallow it.

(Note: I still recall being stunned by the 256K RAM chip back in 1982 so...)

Are there any #flashcard apps for #languageLearning, specifically for vocabulary, that are #screenReader accessible? @zersiax You mentioned the Anki web UI in your language learning guide; I'm wondering if there have been any developments since then? #accessibility

J'utilise beaucoup Takoboto.jp; principalement leur application. Chaque mot peut être exporté automatiquement vers AnkiDroid ! C'est juste que le résultat est franchement moche (image 1).
Je me suis donc lancée dans la tâche délicate de modifier leur carte par défaut pour qu'elle soit plus élégante tout en restant utilisable par l'application. Et j'ai réussi (image 3) !

Nouveau style de cartes Anki ! Celles-ci sont destinées à la lecture de mangas. Ici, il s'agit de The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

[Note : Ce manga a l'avantage de faire figurer les furigana à côté des kanji. Les autres mangas que j'avais essayé de lire n'en avait pas et j'ai craqué ; je les ai remis à plus tard.]

Le recto de la carte montre la phrase écrite verticalement et de droite à gauche, comme il se doit, sans les furigana.
Au verso figure ma proposition de traduction et les mots que je ne connais pas avec leur signification.
Le plus dur a été le choix des couleurs ! 😄

Dato che ora per il #3DS uso 2 schede microSD, ma da qualche parte nella console stessa volevo trovare lo spazio per conservare l’altra al volo quando necessario, ho preso una delle mie #flashcart #R4 brickate (non chiedetemi come mai sono brickate, credo abbia fatto tutto #Nintendo con gli aggiornamenti di sistema) e la uso come semplice porta-SD, visto che tanto lo slot cartucce #DS non lo uso perché funziona da schifo. 💩️

Beh, quando queste #flashcard non funzionano correttamente, possono far freezare il sistema anche se sono soltanto inserite, quindi dato che ormai questa è irrecuperabile (provai a sbrickarla con metodi come NTRBoot, nulla da fare), avevo grossolanamente graffiato via (quasi) tutte le tracce elettriche che connettono i pad della scheda agli altri componenti della #PCB.

E infatti, con questa soluzione la console non freeza… però fa qualcosa di curioso, (apparentemente insignificante): la cartuccia esce nel menu home, ma con un’icona vuota e un titolo vuoto. Ma, solo quando c’è una microSD inserita, altrimenti il sistema non rileva nulla. 😶️

Poi ho (ri)cercato sul web, e pare che quel pad centrale non tagliato, l’8, sia +3.3V (ed avrebbe senso considerando la grandezza rispetto a tutti gli altri non-GND, che sono pad dati). E da questo punto di vista quadrerebbe qualcosa: la console rileva la cartuccia perché c’è un assorbimento di corrente, ma non riesce a comunicare con essa per estrarne le informazioni.

Ma allora, perché questa roba succede solo con una microSD inserita, e non anche senza? Ecco a voi il mistero dell’ennesimo #hardware cinese da risolvere se avete voglia. (Io non particolarmente, ho solo ritenuto curiosa la cosa e allora eccomi qua, #RobeStrane per voi 💀️)

I know it’s a long shot #fediverse but does anyone have a (n ideally #opensource and #selfhosted) #spacedrepetition or #flashcard app / #Anki alternative they recommend? Currently using AnkiApp on iOS and it’s not bad, but I’d like a self hosted web app that lets me get more granular data about, eg, failed cards, keep it all in-house, not worry about privacy policies, etc.

Update: I wasn’t aiming to reduce the cards by exactly half, but that’s what I ended up with ... 2.625“! The kanji cards, however, will not be reduced, so I still have my work cut out for me in these next couple of months ... #Japanese #flashcard #日本語 #フラッシュカード

I am thinking of prototyping a web app and look for some typical and proven content.

@ajlewis2 the notes can be in any folder, both notereview and for flashcards. U just need to add the tag U want, either for reviewing a whole note (#notereview) or if U have a flashcard (#flashcard). When you make flashcards you need to add some more information in the note itself, like how I showed with the double equal signs. There is information about that in the plugin settings. I should have shown more about how to setup the flashcards maybe, but the video was more focused on note review.

After I had so many issues with the free and otherwise awesome #flashcard learning app #Anki (sync, crashes, losing track of what I already learned) they also don't seem to understand what a #GPG/#PGP keyserver is used for.
