Uninstalling 'Caribou' will remove the Cinnamon Desktop Environment for some reason. So you may want a backup DE for your system to boot into before uninstalling it. Then reinstall the Cinnamon DE. Otherwise, you might just end up at a terminal screen. I had XFCE installed, so it defaulted to that DE. #GarudaLinux #ArchLinux #Linux

If you are running into this dependence issue:

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies) :: installing pacman (7.1.0.r7.gb9f7d4a-1) breaks dependency 'libalpm.so=15' required by libpamac-aur

Open up Octopi and search for "pamac-aur & libpamac-aur" and uninstall them both.

If you run into another dependency error between Cinnamon and caribou, uninstall Caribou as well.

Updates are working as intended again on this end.

Fives is running #Arch, BTW, courtesy of #GarudaLinux KDE “Mokka.”

This distro is absolutely gorgeous, and FAST! Holy cow, this OS boots in ⅔ the time of Fedora! The built-in helper utilities are some of the best I’ve EVER seen.

But.

WHY can’t we have Discover?, Flatpak is DIY, but the red line for me is that it ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to connect to my LAN shares. Neither #samba nor NFS works despite fiddling with config files all day.

Guess I’m sliding that #Fedora SSD back in. Too bad. So FAST…

You can use the x86_64 binary packages from https://x11libre.net/repo/arch_based/x86_64/README.html or the AUR PKGBUILDs from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xlibre-xserver#comment-1037485. I really like the Tiling options/ interface. Done and done. simple and functional. i may be home!?

as one who spends much time also with an #MXLinux env, @mxlinux y'all out to check out COSMIC.

EDIT: the "Dock" type bar at left, does AUto-close and typically not present. but always there for the screenshot, unless move the window "in front" of it, then it does collapse. cool.
