OMG! A wild ride… “Based off the newest tranche of emails and texts released by the Justice Department this weekend, Epstein, at the very least, believed that he was orchestrating the downfall of the global order in the 2010s. In June 2016, he emailed venture capitalist, early Facebook investor, and Palantir founder Peter Thiel, writing, “Brexit, just the beginning.” He then laid out the most succinct mission statement we currently have for what Epstein was trying to accomplish. “Return to tribalism,” he wrote. “Counter to globalization. Amazing new alliances. You and I both agreed zero interest rates were too high, and as I said in your office. Finding things on their way to collapse was much easier than finding the next bargain.” 😮

Read that again: “Epstein… believed… he was orchestrating the downfall of the global order”.😐

Been wondering ever since I read that terse email “Brexit, just the beginning” implying that #Epstein & #Thiel think they caused it. Now this rationale. ☝️

Can this really be so? Or is this #billionaires delusion? How could we know, how could we test for the truth of this hypothesis?🤔

Economic Justice simply put is an environment where #prices are chasing #wages. This requires a regulated economy, that is to say the end of unfettered #capitalism and #globalisation which only serve to increase social #inequity.

What #neoliberalism gives us is a case of wages chasing prices where society as a whole suffers increasing financial inequity. The rich get richer at the expense of what is fast becoming slave labour.

Therefore #EatTheRich and resist #Fascism if you want your #kids to have the #Freedom to live a better life than you. If you are serious about the future of your kids you will never vote #conservative (who intend to keep things going as they are) or any political party on the right or far right of progressive policies (They are simply fascists who mean to subjugate all of us into slavery while raining bombs and death upon us)

This is the evidence upon which your kids will judge you. Because, mark my words, #TheyWillJudgeYou.

If you do not vote for more #progressive political and economic outcomes, you are condemning your kids to #slavery. Simple as that. Think on it… for their sakes.

How looks after 2025
"postwar order carried te seeds of its demise. Authority was concentrated in Western‑led institutions tt claimed to speak for te world. often led to overreach & .. confidence in US model's superiority obscured reality of domestic decay.. 2008 was an early warning. US stabilised te system but didn't repair it. rose & grew angrier.. entrenched a bargain"🇺🇸🤦‍♂️

Shared Prosperity in a Fractured World by Dani Rodrik, 2025

A New Economics for the Middle Class, the Global Poor, and Our Climate

New, practical approaches to confronting today’s most daunting global issues. Fighting climate change, saving democracy, and eradicating poverty are urgent global challenges, yet the world’s leaders continue to pursue outdated policies that focus on one while worsening the tradeoffs between each of them.

Shared Prosperity in a Fractured World shows how the nations of the world can achieve all three objectives.

Dani Rodrik provides a bold new vision of globalization, one in which we accelerate the green transition to achieve a sustainable planet, shore up the middle class to restore democracy’s foundations, and hasten economic revitalization in the developing world to put an end to poverty. The rising tide of authoritarianism has demonstrated our inability to alleviate economic anxieties. Economic nationalism has raised the specter of increased protectionism and deteriorating prospects for economic growth. And automation and other new technologies have undercut the advantages of low-cost, unskilled labor in manufacturing and export-oriented industrialization. Rodrik reveals how we can restore prosperity through new forms of collaborative public-private action—to promote renewables and green industries, middle-class jobs, and enhanced productivity in labor-absorbing services—even in the absence of global cooperation. He explains why this new kind of globalization must also recognize the legitimate desire of governments to pursue their economic, social, and security interests autonomously.
Turning conventional economic wisdom on its head, Shared Prosperity in a Fractured World builds on practices that work while radically transforming those that don’t, presenting a grounded, clear-eyed approach to tackling the problems that affect us all, at home and around the world.

Understanding Trade: Beyond Tariffs and Goods

The modern landscape of trade extends beyond tangible goods to complex legal frameworks governing cross-border interactions. Free Trade Agreements act as regulatory blueprints, influencing economies and societies globally. The Ages of Globalization: Geography, Technology, and Institutions by Jeffrey D. Sachs, 2020

Today's most urgent problems are fundamentally global. They require nothing less than concerted, planetwide action if we are to secure a long-term future. But humanity's story has always been on a global scale, and this history deeply informs the present.

In this book, Jeffrey D. Sachs, renowned economist and expert on sustainable development, turns to world history to shed light on how we can meet the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century.
Sachs takes readers through a series of six distinct waves of technological and ideological change, starting with the very beginnings of our species and ending with reflections on present-day globalization. Along the way, he considers how the interplay of geography, technology, and institutions influenced the Neolithic revolution; the spread of land-based empires; the opening of sea routes from Europe to Asia and the Americas; and the industrial age.

China’s industrial ascendancy: productivity, pricing, and the shift in global value

Interesting take, but the productivity paradox reveals deeper issues: price distortions and cutthroat ODM/OEM dynamics mask true efficiency while factory relocation boosts nominal output. Need systemic thinking, not just numbers.

“Industrial #production sits at the 2005 level even after a partial rebound in September. “Many of Germany’s economic core strengths have turned into #vulnerabilities,” says #MarcusBerret, global managing director at #RolandBerger, a Munich-based consultant. Those include a large industrial base that is hard to #decarbonise, a high dependence on #exports at a time when #globalisation is under threat, and a mighty #AutoIndustry having to write off 140 years of internal combustion engine #expertise.”

“the crisis in German #engineering is gaining momentum at force”, says Dirk Pfitzer, a partner at #PorscheConsulting. It is “very clear” that the #slump is not cyclical and “won’t just disappear” in the next upswing,”

“Since the pandemic, however, #China is “increasingly beating #Germany at its own game”, says #SpyrosAndreopoulos, founder of Frankfurt-based consulting firm #ThinIceMacroeconomics

Interesting read! Globalisation is under fire. A new piece argues it was the world’s worst economic bet—fueling inequality, empowering rivals like China, and leaving the West vulnerable.
