Promessa é promessa. Prometi a um de vocês (ele se reconhecerá) uma lista exaustiva — ou, pelo menos, uma lista interessante — dos melhores filmes sobre hacking da história.
A ideia é sempre a mesma: quando se fala de filmes sobre IA, cyberpunk ou ficção científica pioneira, temos a tendência de citar sempre os mesmos títulos. Mas muitos filmes cult já abordaram temas que são cruciais hoje em dia. Por isso, é preciso vê-los!
Entre as joias, penso, por exemplo, nessa joia dos anos 80 em que, pela primeira vez, é uma heroína que hackeia. É um filme desconhecido na França, mas sempre o achei fascinante porque as técnicas descritas são surpreendentemente visionárias para meados dos anos 80.
É claro que não pude deixar de fora meus dois clássicos: WarGames e Sneakers, escritos pela mesma dupla Lawrence Lasker e Walter F. Parkes.
Para cada filme, tentei aplicar um “índice de assistibilidade”, porque, sejamos honestos, isso depende muito da sua carga mental do dia. Mas se você trabalha com informática, é impressionante ver que a maioria das grandes ideias atuais é tratada com mais precisão em filmes de 40 anos atrás do que nas produções atuais.
“Mas como você tem tempo para assistir a tudo isso?”
Para responder a Marie Dollé, que me fez essa pergunta, a resposta é simples: eu não assisto a eles hoje. Eu os vi há muito tempo e alguns continuam me assombrando ou me inspirando.
Essa é a vantagem de ter morado em São Francisco na época áurea. Eu passava a vida na Blockbuster do bairro. Havia uma verdadeira curadoria nas locadoras que sinto muita falta hoje em dia. A maneira completamente inutilizável de escolher um filme na Amazon Prime ou Netflix me leva a criar esse tipo de lista, para que você possa ir direto ao que vale a pena.
Também coloquei um link para o filme 23. Para mim, é um filme sobre Pengo e Koch, dois hackers que conheci na época em alguns fóruns. Uma história trágica e uma lenda no mundo da pirataria informática do final dos anos 80.

A quiet movement is spreading across the airwaves. Meshtastic, an open source project that turns small LoRa radios into long range mesh communicators, is becoming a favorite among hackers, hikers, and off grid experimenters. With a few cheap modules and a bit of code, anyone can build a decentralized network that works without towers, SIM cards, or infrastructure. Messages hop device to device, forming living networks that adapt and rebuild on their own.

It is part of a larger shift toward independence in communication. In disasters, remote areas, or censored regions, these tiny devices can carry information when everything else goes dark. What started as a hobby project is quickly becoming a blueprint for a future where the network belongs to everyone who builds it.

Before DEF CON became the hacker pilgrimage it is today, there was HoHoCon — a small, raw gathering in Texas that lit the spark for what hacker culture would become. Organized by Drunkfux and supported by the legendary Cult of the Dead Cow, it ran from 1990 through 1994 and was part chaos, part brilliance. It was the first time many phone phreaks, hackers, and computer explorers met in person instead of behind handles and terminal screens. Talks were delivered from handwritten notes, demos were patched together on the fly, and people swapped exploits like trading cards.

There were no sponsors, no badges, and no corporate recruitment booths. Just pure underground curiosity, fueled by curiosity and caffeine. Many who later shaped infosec culture first crossed paths there, long before hacking went mainstream or profitable. In the messy glow of CRTs and modem noise, HoHoCon proved one thing: the hacker community did not just exist online. It was real, alive, and it had a voice.
