Ein schönes Brettspiel ist go / igo.

Ich spiele es aktuell hin und wieder mit meinen Kindern - auf einem 9x9 Brett. Dann dauert das Spiel nicht so lange und man kann auch einfacher den Überblick behalten.

Wir spielen noch öfter die Atari-Go Variante.

A listing of all the Nihonkiin Japanese Igo professional players with their ranks and titles, in a style inspired by the Sumo Banzuke. The listing is divided into blocks (title holders and each Dan level) arranged into two columns around a central one containing the title and date. Each name is written top to bottom, in Japanese. The central column uses a light gray ink, while the ink for the names is black. The style of the calligraphy for the names varies depending on the level to emphasise the strength of each player. The image is rendered with a software simulating handwritten brush calligraphy of Japanese kanjis.

Go Board project update: it's done! The "bowls" don't have traditional lids, so there's no place to put captured stones, but I can live without it. What do y'all think?

Cyberpunk Go Board project update: gotta insert an LED and glue on the colored bottom surface for 140 stones 😅 This was supposed to be a side quest 🥲

I was worried about deviating from the traditional black & white Go stones for my Go board ⚫⚪ but turns out some of the earliest existing Go sets use colors of all kinds! Some ancient stones were green and brown. An ancient set used red.

Ancient Chinese Go stones from Tang and Song Dynasties. Colors include brown, green, and white.Examples of ancient Korean Go stones. One is red and the other is black. Both depict birds.
