Looking directly into the golden flower of the moonlight cactus or dragonfruit. The white flower typically only lasts a day, and has a remarkable profusion of anthers together with an unusual flower-like stigma projecting away from the anthers. A lone honeybee is gathering pollen.

A light purple, rain-soaked chive blossom sits in a 9 mm para cartridge case. In focus is a pink geranium blossom with five petals in a 5.6 mm cartridge case, placed in front of it. In this image, rotated 18 degrees, the reflection of the geranium blossom is in focus. Four of its petals are sharp, while the intense colours blend into the rest of the reflection.
