This #MBP is astonishingly heavy. Looked it up - 4.7lb. Whoa. That’s heavier than Big Blue - my #Keychron Q3.

Looking forward to seeing how much slower BAD. BAD DHRY. BE POSITIVE. Aight then. Looking forward to seeing how fast it hardware-encodes #HEVC. Shame it dun have native AV1 encoding but, well, can’t have everything.

Also looking forward to rubbing it hard enough to start the fans blowing. Supposedly that takes quite some effort.

i tried #manjaro but every now and then wifi and sound card drivers are being nuked and i need to look up on the internet how to patch that - while being on ethernet cable

or perhaps i should just turn this machine into a fancy monitor stand 😐

Meine Meinung:

PRO: Spannendes Konzept! z.B. die Entwicklungsumgebung zeigt dann Tasten zum Debuggen etc. an was sehr bequem sein kann

CONTRA: … blöderweise nur für die App die gerade aktiv ist! Debugge ich also eine iOS-App und habe den iPhone-Simulator aktiv => keine Debugging-Tasten mehr um mit Fokus auf der App im Hintergrund/Fenster daneben durch Zeilen zu springen

Etwas weiter gedacht wäre das eine geniale Sache (gewesen)

I knew it, but I didn't have a chance to do a comparative test it in person before. The (over a decade) old #MBP's speakers are filmsy and comically bad. Actually, all of it is bad but these stand out the most I think. The ancient past was awful ;p M series is a relief after the Intel hairdryer.

This is one of my favorite Murderbot quotes on this large decal now on my older Intel MBP... Current plan is to put it to use as my ham radio laptop, for which is should be massive overkill, even if I need to run VirtualBox for something. But the laptop has been gathering dust for like 4 years now and I'll feel better if it's useful for something.
