I've had some time to upgrade my #analog #productivity setup since coming home from a month in the hospital/in-patient rehab. I really like both the #rhodia top-stapled notepad and the #mnemosyne notebook. The paper on both the notepad and the notebook are silky smooth, with my only gripe being that both have very faint lines by design which is not great for my eyes. The good news is that my living quarters are dim, and visibility should only improve as light levels increase.

I've decided after trying Pilot and Zebra gel pens that gel pens aren't for me. Too much glide is something I don't with my shaky-ass handwriting. I have ordered a ballpoint pen with a thicker barrel, and see if that looks and feels any better.

I am quite pleased with the leather A5 cover I ordered from AliExpress. Feels good and is well designed.

During my recent surgery, in-patient acute rehab, and now home rehab journey, I have taken an interest in how to more closely integrate my analog and digital life in terms of productivity. And as always (at least for me), find ways to make my daily workflow more efficient and enjoyable.

I have been using Aacehlh-brand A5 notebooks from Amazon. Although not particularly aesthetic, they feature 100 gsm perforated-paper with bright lines, sturdy paper-covers, and big enough twin-rings that allow my Zebra pen to nestle in with the pad.

I recently purchased two Maruman #Mnemosyne A5-sized Lined notebooks due to user recommendations. Beautiful construction, amazing paper, and fantastic premium-feel.

Although the Mnemosyne notebooks are amazing, I won't be using them as they have two faults that I can't overlook:

The rings on the notepad are tight enough that I can't insert a pen.
I can't easily see the lines on the paper due to existing eye contrast issues.

NGL, this is disappointing as I would have switched to the Mnemosyne notebooks in a heartbeat even at twice the price given their luxury-feel. But lack of line-visibility and the smaller rings are a no-go.

Yes, I know I am a bad man for using #amazon, but they do a good job getting stuff to me in my current state (temporarily wheelchair bound after surgery). While I do believe in ordering from smaller local vendors, I can't do that now as I'm not currently driving.

When Amazon does fuck up, it is that much more surprising and noticeable to me. I ordered a single #Maruman #Mnemosyne Lined Notebook- A5 from them on February 3 with the original delivery date being February 5. They let me know on February 4 that the order was delayed until today (7th). It is now about 6:45pm on the 7th, and there has been no movement since the 5th.

I am guessing this is weather-related, but it is still showing on track for delivery today (which obviously isn't going to happen).

Two things to note here: 1. I am surprised Amazon doesn't have a better handle on updating delayed shipments. Appears to me that my notebook is either sitting in a trailer overflow lot or was involved in an accident, and 2. I need to be more patient and not be so dependent on their delivery estimates.

I am #grateful that the important medical stuff I ordered while in inpatient rehab all arrived as promised and undamaged.
