Folks, can I use #NextDNS *and* #PiHole in #tailscale? Perhaps PiHole with NextDNS as its backend?

But I do need a fallback DNS if my pihole is not accessible...

social.sengotta.net Ich betreibe eine redundante #AdGuardHome Umgebung, über die alle mobilen Endgeräte per #WireGuard (ebenfalls redundant) angebunden sind. Die Daten werden daher bereits auf #DNS-Ebene herausgefiltert.

Mir ging es eher darum aufzuzeigen, dass #Vodafone per Default tatsächlich EXTREM viele Daten verwertet und diese sicherlich nicht nur selbst verwertet, was auch durch die Datenschutzbestimmungen untermauert wird.

Immerhin kann man hier, im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen Diensteanbietern - z. B. #Microsoft - die Schnüffelei vollständig abschalten. Ich habe mir jedoch nicht die Mühe gemacht und die Logs überprüft, ob auch wirklich nichts mehr getrackt wird. 😉

Hier übrigens ein interessanter Artikel zu #NextDNS. Wäre für mich keine empfehlenswerte Option.

Creo qué tengo mi combinación ideal para mi Xiaomi:

- NextDNS mediante DNS Privado de Android.

- NetGuard a modo de VPN Fake filtrando toda app innecesaria que quiera acceder a Internet en segundo plano.

@exception #NextDNS has an allowlist, but I'm not sure if there's a way to set it to block by default...

I just tried configuring #uBlockOrigin to block everything globally, but went to Reddit and surprisingly it still loaded... So not sure how that works.

@Seeker und ein pi-hole schadet auch nicht, dann bist du fast werbe- und trackingfrei in deinen Netzwerk.
Nächster Schritt: VPN einrichten um auch unterwegs vom Pi-hole zu profitieren.
Wenn das alles zu kompliziert klingt kannst du auch z.b. #NextDNS oder #adguarddns nutzen, die filtern allerdings bei YouTube ebenfalls keine Werbung.
Viele Wege führen zu einem erträglichen Internetgenuss.

A nice touch in #NextDNS is the graph showing #GAFAM dominance of your #DNS lookups.

As part of #degoogle strategy - this is really helpful. Google was over 20% a month ago. #Microsoft I'll tackle another day as that's currently pretty much required by my employer.

Much of the traffic to these orgs is actually blocked by NextDNS in its role to restrict tracking, ads etc.

As with the other analytics provided - I'd like to be able to dig a bit deeper than is already possible.

Creo qué pir fin conseguí conectar #TrackerControl + #NextDNS y que ambas funcionen correctamente.
Tenía activado en #TrackerControl el enrutamiento de subredes y esto, interfería con el DNS Privado de Android.

Al final me parece que bien configurado, #NextDNS es una muy buena opción de #Firewall de red y además con un consumo de recursos ínfimo.
