EL MILAGRO ACUÁTICO DEL DESIERTO DELTA DEL OKAVANGO

El delta del Okavango, el mayor delta interior del mundo, se forma cuando el río Cubango se extiende sobre una falla tectónica en el árido desierto del Kalahari, en Botswana.

A diferencia de otros deltas, sus aguas no llegan a mares ni océanos, sino que se evaporan o infiltran, creando un ecosistema único y biodiverso.

Este oasis es vital para la fauna africana y un ejemplo de resiliencia ecológica en un entorno extremo.

“The river that never reaches the sea” is a myth for many travelers. And as we understand them: the Okavango Delta, in Botswana, is a wild, unique territory, where water
meets the Kalahari Desert, creating an extraordinary landscape, made up of swamps, lagoons, canals, islands and floodplains. A paradise for animals, an incredible place for photographers.

In the beautiful wild…

On my second day in the delta I sat in my first mokoro, after which I was allowed to try my hand at it. Poling in a straight line proved to be more of a challenge as I found myself going in circles.

Family 😘

This is a colour art edited photo of a young mother waterbuck standing with her three babies in the watery glades of the Okavango Delta. The beautiful waterbucks are looking towards me and you can see their cute heart shaped noses and smiles. There are also Egyptian geese and a crane in the shot which are slightly blurred out.
