PLAIN ist eine mandantenfähige „Everything-as-a-Service"-Plattform, die speziell auf die Bedürfnisse der öffentlichen Verwaltung zugeschnitten ist. Der DevOps-Ansatz der Plattform ermöglicht Autonomie und Flexibilität. So können spezielle Anwendungsfälle und Bedarfe rund um Daten und Software auf Basis der Container-Technologie im eigenen PLAIN-Mandanten individuell ergänzt werden. Das Auswärtige Amt testet in seinem PLAIN-Mandanten eine auf seine Bedarfe angepasste Version der KI-Assistenz F 13, das als Open-Source-Software (F13-OS) zur Nachnutzung zur Verfügung steht.

Das Auswärtige Amt steht im internationalen Austausch und der täglichen Arbeit vor großen Text- und Rechercheaufgaben – sei es bei Analysen, Briefings oder internen Vermerken.

F 13 bietet:

F13 ist Open Source und datenschutzorientiert – zwei zentrale Anforderungen für sicherheitsrelevante Verwaltungsarbeit. Die Integration von F 13 auf der PLAIN-Plattform erfolgt zudem souverän und unterstützt die digitale Unabhängigkeit der Bundesverwaltung.

Wie in der PLAIN-Community steht auch bei F 13 die gemeinsame Entwicklung und effiziente Nachnutzung nach dem „Einer-für-Alle-Prinzip“ (EfA) und somit das Teilen von Daten, Code und Anwendungen im Fokus. F 13 wurde zunächst vom Innovationslabor Baden-Württemberg entwickelt und wird inzwischen in einer wachsenden Open Source Community arbeitsteilig ausgebaut. Das System ist bewusst offen gestaltet: F 13 verwendet etablierte Open-Source-Komponenten, ist flexibel in der Modellwahl einsetzbar und läuft auf modernen Standardplattformen – somit auch auf der PLAIN-Plattform.

I've seen toots recently celebrating the beauty of simple #web sites, especially those with zero #CMS. Just #plain #HTML.

Admittedly I'm happy with my current WordPress-powered sites (self-hosted, NOT dotcom mess).

But the posts I've encountered made me super nostalgic about the meticulously hand-coded sites I used to build. My favorite was v2.0 of D.T.P. by Lee (see it at http://2001.dtpbylee.com).

I think I wrote some rather nicely formatted, tabbed, and annotated code, didn't I?
