This is the Dell PowerEdge, well, it's kinda "old" as the salesperson said.

It has like 2 TB of RAM, 2 AMD EPYC CPUs, tons of hotswappable SSD slots, SFP modules, and other cool shit.

This whole thing costs like 300k - 500k baht. (9k - 15k USD)

Messing around with these old #dell #poweredge R310 and R410

Question for the #Dell servers specialists and/or older integrators/maintainers out there:

Does someone know if the #PowerEdge T310's IPMI/BMC supports #IPv6 ?

My particular unit is running firmware v1.6.0 + BMC system v1.70.15 (latest available on Dell drivers website) and I can't set anything regarding this protocol via BIOS setup nor ipmitool - but it explicitly says "IPv4" on the setup page, which means it is aware of the current protocol existence.
And I know it's old, don't @ me on that.

Got the motherboard replacement on my PowerEdge R415 installed. The biggest issue was getting the Sevice Tag transferred to the new board. If you are running Linux, this worked great. The package in the debian repos was smbios-utils.

Me parece impresionante lo fácil que es mover todo el sistema #UnRAID físicamente de un servidor a otro totalmente distinto. En mi caso de un HP #ProLiant ML110 G7 con 3 discos mecánicos y un SSD a un Dell #PowerEdge T330. Sólo he tenido que llevarme el "pincho" USB (que lo puedo "esconder" dentro del servidor gracias al conector USB que tiene en la placa base) y los discos y conectarlo todo en el T330. Arrancar y listo. (1/3)

Redid my #Proxmox cluster so there are now 3 nodes again! Two #Intel #MacBookPro devices and a #PowerEdge with #Debian #NFS backed storage. Gotta say, aside from the slower USB Ethernet (Proxmox and WiFi don't get along) the MacBooks are great hypervisors

Volgens diagnose-LEDs is er een issue met het systeembord. Geen zichtbare schade te zien intern dus grrrr. Maar goed, het was ook wel al een oudje.

En dan wil je een nieuwe bestellen maar accepteert de site het BTW nummer niet.

Okay doei, Dell. Dan maar een dingetje bij Alternate bestellen hè.

Pues el consumo tampoco está tan mal para ser un servidor con dos SSD y 2 discos mecánicos SAS y 2 PSUs: 42W. Sí, sé que no es el consumo de un miniPC, pero se contiene bastante bien y se supone que con el cambio de CPU bajará un poco más.

Bueno, esto ya tiene otra pinta. InstaladoTrueNAS Scale a la última versión, Boot Pool (SSD) y Pool de datos (discos mecánicos SAS-3) en espejo (RAID1). He optado por poner la controladora en modo HBA para que TrueNAS se encargue al 100% de la gestión #RAID de los discos. Pendiente del cambio de CPU y ampliación de memoria.

iDRAC actualizado progresivamente a la 2.85.85.85, viniendo de la 2.30.30. A partir de ahí, todos los firmwares actualizados sin problemas a pesar de un pequeño susto en la actualización de la BIOS que se ha solicitado “sólo” 🤷🏻‍♂️. Esto de actualizar todo por iDRAC y sin pagar un duro (no como HP), es una delicia.
