My sense of humor has a dark side. A VERY dark side. You might even call it evil. But I don't apologize for it.

Okay, here's something that might actually be a good use of social media: last weekend I visited a friend who had caught something. He got visibly sicker over the two days that I visited. By the time I left, he looked like he was dying. That was on Sunday.

By Tuesday evening I was coughing and feeling pretty awful myself. Things got worse on Wednesday. Thursday was just unbelievably awful, with coughing, sneezing, my nose running like a faucet, and congestion. Starting Tuesday I added zinc, magnesium, and vitamin c to my usual morning pills.

This is Friday evening now. The first day since Tuesday that I've definitely felt on the mend. Still congested, still coughing up bloody mucus every so often (sorry if that's too much information). But even so, I definitely feel better.

So there seems to be something like a fairly tough cold that lasts 3 to 4 days. Maybe five. I don't know how quickly bacteria and viruses travel around the world, but if you are feeling sick, take hope! Stay hydrated, run a humidifier if you can, and take frequent hot showers. This thing won't last too long.
