Progress on a trimmed version of Battle, artwork by Daniel Eskridge. I’m stitching the sky section first, with lots of sunset/sunrise colors. It’ll be a while before I get to the ship, but I’m really pleased with these early colors. 🧵✨

I used warm water & peroxide (2:1) to soak this eyelet.
This photo was taken at 20 minutes, and you can already see how yellow the water is.
I’m very pleased how it brightened them up! 👏

Six months later and I can finally take the last steps to finish this very special project. Means: More pearls, more glitter, more thoughts and more spells sewed - stitch by stitch - into this piece of textile art.

Embroidery hoop with white fabric in it. Embroidered are the words "Protect Trans Kids" in black embroidery floss. Alongside is a Kanzashi flower, the petals are in the trans colours (pink, blue, white). The flower is bedazzled with pearls and glass beads, strings of rocailles are also growing out of it's center. All of them in shades of the colour scheme of the petals. Bigger blue eye pearls (arabic Nazar eyes against evil things) are sewns onto the fabric, part of them surrounded by small facetted, pink and blue glass beads. Around the hoops are plastic sachets with the pearls and one big string with the Nazar pearls.

I spent a quiet morning, with a coffee ☕️ (of course 😊), a warming fire in the woodstove 🪵🔥 (it’s so very cold outside 🥶) — carefully unpicking this eyelet, from an old slip.
I’ve thought 💡 of how to use this, and some other lovely eyelet pieces, that I’ve saved for years, in my Bits & Bobs collage quilt. 🪡👏

Meet Patrick the possum, he's a writer and performer. He loves cloaks as they give his tail ample room to move and cloaks are nice and swishy... Don't freak him out, he hates it when his 'play dead' instinct kicks in and his clothes get dirty. Unfortunately he's a bit of a scaredy pants... Meet Lord Anthony Frederick William Badger, he lives on an old country estate and he spends most of his time reading in his library, nestled in his comfy chair next to the fireplace, a pot of tea and a silver plate filled with biscuits on the side table next to him.
When Lord Anthony isn't in the library he can be found walking around the woodland area in the grounds pondering about the characters in the book he is reading at the moment, or he'll be sitting on one of the benches reading. He asked his tailor to make the pockets in his coat large enough to contain a book.
He also offers writers retreats in the cottage on the estate.
