Hoping someone out there can offer the advice I need to solve some of my light fittings 😅

I’ve got a few of the #aqara #zigbee light switches around, but have a few points that are like these brown switch panel on rough brick. I’m not sure how I’m going to get a switch to sit on that as they’re 2-3 gang vertically, are smaller, and it seems as though the brick was cut to fit them.

The Aqara switches are larger and wouldn’t fit.. so is there some custom mould I could put there to raise the switches from the wall?

After weeks of failing to get Samsung Smart Switch to synch my phone calendar with Outlook on my laptop, I've paid £3.39 for an app and I can do exactly what I need!

My first paid app. iCal Import/Export CalDAV

Outlook was installed on this laptop from new but trying to use it without a microsoft login was nigh impossible.

I now have my calendar in Thunderbird as I wanted.

3 quid. Well worth it!

I tried to install the Sonoff smart switch M5 just now. Every time I turn on the circuit breaker, the ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) keeps tripping.

I'm pretty sure the wiring of the smart switch is correct. I think it could be the electrician messing it up.

So, I believe a quick fix for this case could be a smart switch with a capacitor or a Zigbee smart switch.

I usually prefer z-wave but to make single leg (no neutral) switches smart you cannot beat a Shelly 1L.
Easy to pair via WiFi and you can turn off cloud access if you don’t have an IoT vlan.
These are numbers 2 and 3 for my install.

And, I really wish #smartswitch makers would include standard slots/screws for wiring instead of hard-wired pigtails. These smart switch cases are already large enough without requiring (in the Kasa case) 4 additional wire nuts and trying to fit it all back into the switch box. :headdesk:
