I have a new project in the back burner for Christmas 2026 which requires knitting (I haven't knit in 15+ years...), so I'm using sock yarn from my stash to practice!

I'm making a long strip that I might turn into a shawl or blanket in the future. Who knows 🤷‍♀️

Progress on some knit socks I started who knows when!
I'm going through my wip bin, and attempting to get down to only 5 projects left by the end of the year - most my wips are socks, so idk if I'll manage, but I'm attempting.
Today's progress is the entire leg portion (that bottom stitch marker is where I started).
Tomorrow I'll do 10 more rows, then the heel, gusset, then the foot - IF I pull all that off tomorrow, I'll be able to attempt the entire second sock this weekend 🫠 wish me luck haha

Another step in my ongoing quest for a me-perfect sock. This is a blend of polwarth, rabbit angora, and mohair, dyed with kool-aid, and the pattern is a custom toe up, princess sole with a gusset, some sole increases, and short row heels. They fit pretty well, but I spun the yarn thinner than I prefer, and next time I want more bunny fur in the mix. My sensitive feet socks. This is a blend of polwarth, rabbit angora, and mohair, and I knit them with "princess soles," which is purl stitches to the outside on the sole. The knit side is noticeably smoother to walk on, because purl is bumpy. I can really feel the difference! These are so soft and comfortable that I suffered while waiting for my one pair to dry. I've been battling a nasty summer cold and I had almost zero brain power to focus on a more complex pattern. But the Wyverns & Witchlings let me keep my hands busy and I didn't have to focus too much.
Am a bit unhappy with this particular skein of the Unity yarn, as the thread was extremely uneven and got ridiculous thin in places. It shows a bit in the second mitt I made (the one pictured on the left), as the fabric looks and feels a bit irregular.

Souvenir yarn alert!

This is from a shop called Wool For Ewe in #Aberdeen which I definitely recommend, they had a great range and the woman who I assume is the owner was very nice.

Cookston Crafts is a local indie dyer and this is the "Silver City" colourway specifically based on Aberdeen itself, so of course I had to get it.

It's a bit more saturated irl than in the photo, a mixture of greys (for the ever-present granite buildings) and turquoise (for the cool domed roof - I think it's the art gallery?).

It will, to nobody's surprise, be petted for a while and then eventually turn into socks.
