Has anyone gotten Split Horizon working on #Technitium? The idea is that local devices resolve to one address but external devices connect to another.

All I want to do is setup local DNS so I can type out service.example.com on my home network and connect to a container. And be able to type in service.example.com from an external network and connect to the reverse proxy which connects me to the container.

I'm using #pfsense with #HAProxy.

So... I finally took the leap and replaced my internal #dns from #pihole to #Technitium and still do network level ad block and stuff like that.

estoy rehaciendo mi homelab por numero 37 (aprox) y claramente se me ha olvidado algo elemental de configuracion dns

setup:
#proxmox, contendor #lxc #debian corriendo #technitium en 192.168.236.102

mi pese en 192.168.236.231
tengo una zona primara ".lab", hice una entrada "revxy" que apunta a 192.168.236.201

si lo resuelvo desde el panel de technitium mismo, me da la direccion adecuada. pero desde mi ordenador, aun especificando el servidor dns (aunque sea ya el primario), se salta completamente la entrada y va al root-servers

I wanted to point my #pop_os laptop to my new DNS server (#Technitium) container. The wired connection picked up the change but the wifi connection still thinks that my router is the DNS server. More poking is needed.

Anyone care to help me with a #QubesOS question? I'm trying to get an ad blocker to work. I am using #Technitium but I had the same issue with #pihole. Basically an AppVM is connected to the adblocker. I can see DNS traffic in the adblocker's dashboard, but it's not blocking anything. It's like sys-adblock is just a passthrough. What am I doing wrong?

@tobi #Technitium sieht interessant aus. Muss ich mir mal anschauen. Allerdings bin ich mit #AdguardHome echt zufrieden. Funktioniert wie erwartet und die Conditional Forwarder auf meine #UDMpro funktionieren auch. Das ist die zweit-wichtigste Funktion 😅

@SkyfaR #Pihole / #Adguard im Kombination mit unbound ist schon mächtig und für viele langt auch die genanntem DNS blocker.

Konkurrenz ist nicht schlecht aber Ich kannte diesen blocker nicht. Beim lesen kam mir der Gedanke dass #Technitium eine Kombination aus beiden ist.

Kennt das jemand? Der Artikel ist reißerisch geschrieben, aber letztendlich soll dieser DNS Blocker ein bessere Ersatz für Pi hole oder Adguard Home darstellen.

Since I woke up a zero-dark-thirty for some reason, I grabbed one of my #homelab projects and some coffee. I now have #Technitium running in a docker container as a #dns server. So far, so good. After years of reading through multi-pages how-tos, containers feel like such a cheat code.
