I'm thinking of how easy it was to fly a #Tello drone using Scratch and Node.js and wondering if any of the drones I see are being piloted by AIs.

Telco plans
I spend most of my time home where I have Wi-Fi.* I have an iPhone that's been on a friend's family plan. I'm looking at #MintMobile & #Tello as options. Tello is the favorite because they have super low plans I can use to keep my number active for texts when I'm living abroad.
*my home WiFi has gone up 25% in the last few years. It's on autopay so I didn't even realize! If I weren't moving I'd be looking into changing it.
Any telephony experts in my audience?
Preamble
So iPhone has a feature (that i cant recall the name of the toggle rn) where you can share the internet of SIM1 to SIM2. Which has been a hidden in-secret for travellers who get free WiFi-calling (SIM2).
Well thats me. I get free WiFi calling but zero roaming. Its prepaid (Tello) so no accidental or hidden fees to keep my US number!
But!
Problem
I have a Samsung. I cannot figure out how to share my (unlimited) internet from my SIM1 to my SIM2. And my new appartment does not have wifi yet. I cant recieve any text or calls (important for banking, as US banks ban virtual sim providers).
I am willing and able to call hidden android intents not typically accessible. I found one called "Sim Manager" and it is completely and utterly broken in Samsung. Neutered.)

Has anyone here tried Tello or Mint for cell service? Seems like a really great no contract alternative to T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T. I'm sick of paying $90/mo.

The best part for iPhone users is that you can use Apple Messages and FaceTime (voice/audio calls) w/ other iPhone users using your US number on your local data plan.
(Most people that I know have an iPhone or they're on WhatsApp, which requires 2FA that Tello supports.)
When I moved to Finland, I ported my US phone number to Google Voice, but many services block it for 2FA and I’ve been trying to DeGoogle myself in recent years.
So, I ported it over to Tello's $5/month plan (eSIM w/ no data, unlimited text, 100 mins). SMS and voice calls only work while on WiFi (no biggie) and their app is lacking (no need to use it anyway), but it's not VoIP, it's connected to Apple, and does what I need.
Overall: highly recommended

As if the cheap and customizable plans weren't enough reason to check out #Tello, I just got my first newsletter from them and it uses #AltText, headings, and proper link labels. It's an example of perfect HTML. I shouldn't be so surprised by this, but I've become so used to scrolling through "Link graphic CB3E9JXD..." that I almost reflexively skip over images in my emails now.
Today our #GLIDE girls built a small tabletop town using all kinds of materials! They each then recorded video with their #Tello #Drones of all aspects of their towns. Next week they will incorporate that footage into a promotional town video using @canva! Stay tuned! 🏘️🎥 #STEM
