Koko Analytics, the local page counting tool I use here and on The New Leaf Journal, shows referrers. The vast majority of my regular referrals are from Google, with the rest being split between DuckDuckGo, Bing, Brave Search, Yandex, and miscellaneous search engines (usually in that order, although sometimes Brave and Yandex switch positions). Unusual referrers stand out. I just noticed one from potterfun.com. I had no idea what it was, but it turned out to be a Harry Potter fan site. This struck me as peculiar. Not only have I never written about Harry Potter, I also never read it. While I did not find the where my link was posted, I suspect it is my article on a 1920s book about reading tea leaves. Why? One of the most recent Potter Fun articles is titled Study Your Future With Tea-Leaf Reading Divination. But that article does not include a single link, internal or external, so I could be wrong.

Yep, that worked! I talked about it a little more clearly on my Cohost ( https://cohost.org/Setsune/post/3990921-confirmed-asgard-s-w ), but I gifted my old account the games (even got some discounted that otherwise weren't using app referrals from others), removed device data, then set it back up with the old account and only then claimed Asgard's Wrath 2. Did you ever hear about Custom Headers in #bravebrowser? Yesterday I found out that #Brave will add custom HTTP header X-Brave-Partner on websites of the Brave's partners.

Currently, it adds this header only on #Grammarly website, the reason is "Count Brave visitors as part of an ad campaign".
Also, if #Yandex is a default search index, the Brave adds special clid parameter to search requests for indicating that request originated from Brave (2423859 for Android users, 2353835 for Desktop users).

In the past, the list contains several Brave partners, such as upholdm you can check the revisions of the wiki page (e.g. in 2019-2020).

Interesting fact is that in the past, this list was updated dynamically - the Brave browser downloaded a json config once a day from https://laptop-updates.brave.com/promo/custom-headers

Nowadays, the list of partners is hardcoded in the source code, but still it is there.

Despite the custom headers and clid are same for all Brave users, it can be used to identify who uses Brave browser - in some organizations/companies it could be prohibited because of its support for Tor, and this Custom Headers and parameters can distinguish between the Brave users and others
