This morning's run in the sun. It was already 20C when I started, so I finished a hot, sweaty mess. No selfie this time, obviously! I wanted to get out before it gets too hot and sunny. Because by then, I'll be in full tanning mode on my balcony.

But I made it to Allhallows - seeing such beauty on the way. Next stop: Grain.

Two geese and five small goslings following them walk over mudflats. Two lines of pylons stretch into the distance over fields, with a bright blue sky.A weathered concrete pillbox sits on mudflats. Across a wide river there's a seaside resort, with funfair and tall hotels."W.D. No. 4 to centre of ditch" with an upwards pointing arrow after the first word.

A burnt out and weathered car just off a road has police tape wrapped around it, bonnet open and caved in, with space where an engine should be. Its wheels are just hubcaps.Several large buildings have no roof, and trees growing from them. Nearer, sheep are sitting or standing on uneven pasture. Further away is another building with holes in its roof. Beyond that, large fields of green and yellow are visible through hazeTwo buildings rise from piled sand or other construction material. They're blocky, damaged, and covered in graffiti.Several large buildings have no roof, and undergrowth growing over them. Behind, there's a field of yellow oilseed rape, and another green field.

10.4 miles, as finished at Woolwich to get the clipper back. Plus, a fair bit of walking in the West End before and Canary Wharf after. Today will be a day of rest. #ThamesPath

A snip of the os msp app route for the final leg. A red dotted line from Rotherhithe station to Woolwich.

Canary Wharf is near the O2, which is near the Thames Barrier, right? Nope. Despite the tiredness, the last stretch is enjoyable. Grubby commerce, decaying docklands infrastructure. The Greenwich observatory. The barrier itself. The end. #ThamesPath

At this point the 180 mile path plays second fiddle to London residents and industrial past. Which is fine. But a few more signs would be welcome. Rotherhithe to the Thames Barrier. Piece of piss right? But the river has the last laugh. #ThamesPath

By the time you get to Westminster, you're basically done right? Oh no. You walk for hours and find yourself by a ventilation shaft for the Rotherhithe tunnel. And the buses are knackered. #ThamesPath

But it takes ages to get there. Because you have to skirt round the tip at Wandsworth and then see that thing at Tate Britain right? And the river is unnecessary bendy. And people are ambling. #ThamesPath

It's interesting to walk from rural London to the centre. There are lots of distractions like Ham House and the Wetlands Centre to slow you down. And you increasingly walk on concrete rather than dirt. You can feel 'proper' London approaching. #ThamesPath

Somewhere around here, travel became a pain in the arse. Between Oxford and Windsor, a combination of buses and trains worked really well. But getting to Staines and beyond from North Oxfordshire is time-consuming. Months passed between legs. #ThamesPath

There were some glorious autumn days around Bray, Cookham, Marlow (I think) where the trees were at their best. Paused at Runnymede to pay our respects to Magna Carta who died in vain. #ThamesPath

The walking between Lechlade and Oxford was the bit I enjoyed most. Very rural and can really detach yourself from the grind of life for a while. But pop into Kelmscott, of course. #ThamesPath

The source was just a dry pile of stones the day I started. Had to walk for 10 minutes before there was any water to see. Second day between Cricklade and Lechlade was a real highlight. A beautiful summer day. Clouds of dragonflies. #ThamesPath

I would write a thread about the #ThamesPath. But given it took six years, it's a bit of a memory test. It's great it exists of course. Loads of work went into getting access, maintaining infrastructure, and so on. Lots of volunteering.

I have to say...the source was more picturesque. #ThamesPath

An underpass marks the end/start of the Thames Path. A notice above says 180 miles to the source

Last half a mile. #ThamesPath
