Such an occurrence under the stairs of my former apartment building. If you turn up the volume, you can tell it's squeaking. What is this I wonder? Mom was nearby - not the smallest bird, size of a swallow, brown.

A Eurasian Wren (Winterkoning) is making a nest in our backyard. Apparently they're not that rare but I had never seen one until we moved here. I read that the male will make several nests and the female will then choose the best one, so it's not certain that they will end up laying eggs in this one but I'm still excited 😄
