Pulled this up from old photos from a Galaxy S3 Mini after talking about potentially going back here later on in the year.

These were taken in February 2018, you can really see how smartphone photography has improved since then.

The M48 #Severn #Bridge (or potentially both of them, I can't tell whether it is)! Taken over 20mi away in Standish Wood (near Randwick and Whiteshill, Stroud; roughly 290m altitude afaik) using a #GooglePixel 6 Pro. Edited in #AdobePhotoshop 2021.

I know the Cardiff one from Weston was far (~20km), but this definitely takes the impressive capabilities of this phone further. Sure, the image isn't high quality but I'm not bothered when it looks as beautiful as this.

Here's the unedited photo with the location embedded just for reference. Purely insane how I was able to get this.

I'm not sure how you calculate focal length, but it sounds like this would have been equivalent to 520mm? I don't have a clue.

Also attached two unedited images for perspective showing Stonehouse (you can barely make it out) etc.

Map co-ordinates can be seen showing that the image was taken near Whiteshill in Stroud. An image of various hills, with Stonehouse visible in the upper half of the image (albeit very small) and barely being able to make out a Severn bridge near the topAn image of Stonehouse in Gloucestershire. Factories and various industrial buildings can be seen, alongside countryside and a Severn bridge further on.

You've made it out of January! Congratulations.

Your reward is to enjoy these photos I shot yesterday around the limestone pavements beneath Ingleborough, in the Yorkshire Dales. Aren't you lucky?

Been a while, guys.

A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from me!

November and December in the Northwest of England have been rubbish, weather wise. Near-constant murk and drizzle, punctuated by the occasional storm.

But for once, I found a forecast for a clear day and rearranged my work shifts accordingly.

This is #Llangrannog, also in #Ceredigion in #Wales. I really love how the beach is just surrounded with hills and rocky structures here honestly. Had to set the location as Cardigan for this since Pixelfed doesn't recognise the place unfortunately.

Let's get back to Scotland, shall we?

This was a day spent once again exploring the picturesque and atmospheric ruins of Kilchurn Castle. Later, we explored Taynuilt village and its incredible monument. 👍

#landscape #landscapephotography #architecture #history #historical #castle #autumn #fall #scotland #highlands #uk #britain #nature #travel
The ruined stone towers of Kilchurn Castle stand proudly on a small promontory, perfectly mirrored in the still waters of Loch Awe on an autumn morning. The medieval fortress, with its weathered grey walls partially covered in yellow-green foliage, is dramatically framed by the rolling Highland mountains beneath a bright blue sky with wispy clouds, whilst the loch's muddy shoreline is decorated with scattered marsh grasses and seasonal debris.A weathered piece of driftwood juts diagonally from the muddy shoreline of Loch Awe, its reflection perfectly mirrored in the calm waters, whilst the rugged Scottish Highlands rise dramatically in the background, their autumn-tinged slopes glowing golden-brown beneath a bright blue sky, with a line of deciduous trees forming a natural boundary between the mountains and the loch's edge.A Victorian-era railway bridge, painted in deep forest green, spans gracefully across Loch Awe, its latticed iron framework and stone pillars casting perfect reflections in the still waters beneath. The bridge is beautifully framed by the autumnal Scottish Highlands, their ochre slopes rising majestically against a brilliant blue sky streaked with wispy clouds, whilst a small gravelly peninsula juts into the loch's crystalline waters in the foreground.A tall granite memorial stands atop a grassy knoll, backed by the imposing peak of Ben Cruachan beneath a dramatic sky of racing clouds, whilst a rustic stone wall wraps around the mound's base and a wooden bench sits quietly to the left, all framed by autumn-touched foliage and the golden Highland light illuminating the verdant grass.
