A brand new 68k Mac emulator quietly dropped last night!!

“Snow” can emulate the Mac 128k, 512k, Plus, SE, Classic, and II. It supports reading disks from bitstream and flux-floppy images, and offers full execution control and debugging features for the emulated CPU. Written using Rust, it doesn't do any ROM patching or system call interception, instead aiming for accurate hardware-level emulation.

I have this crazy thought that if we started treating CEOs/Presidents of various institutions with the mindset that they are a normal employee like everyone else with no "white glove" service, maybe they'd stop acting like spoiled royalty and earn the respect of the rest of the company. . .

Did you know that there is hidden morse code all throughout Mike Oldfield's 'Tubular Bells' album?

Somehow, probably during the two-track mix-down stage of the album, the CW from a powerful, very low frequency transmitter about 37 miles north of the studio in which this album was recorded found it's way to tape. It's centered at 16 kHz, and so low in the mix that you can't actually hear it... at least, not without some help.

This is a very short, not particularly comprehensive demo using two different methods -- a pair of stock Reaper plugins and an SDR package to mostly isolate this morse transmission, which is heard throughout the entire album.

Turns out the author of Kinetic Worm Dimension, a fast paced "three dimensional" implementation of Snake, still had a backup of the original 1999 DOS version of the game. It was previously unpreserved on the Internet, so he decided to share it.

I wish to reiterate that if you're designing a web app that is too complex to write installation documention for and you tell people to just use your provided Docker images--your app is too damn complex and you need to tone it down a bit. . .

I'm sure the games will run fine, but the biggest issue with running anything from Ubisoft under Linux is their broken Ubisoft Connect app which refuses to detect purchased games from Steam.

Added the next batch of Amiga Magazin images. This time from the color cycling contests in July 1988.

I switched the format for images with color cycling or animations in CRT mode to MP4, because some of the loops were getting too long and using animated WEBP files wasn't practical anymore.
