Using Server 3.0 on a to SSH into my server and my main computer.

Yes, I know this sounds like a horrible idea, but I live for the danger.

💻 New to FreeBSD? Getting started is easier than you think.

As more people explore FreeBSD beyond servers, we're showing just how simple it is to dive in — even on a MacBook. Whether you're installing from scratch or trying out a virtual machine, FreeBSD offers flexible options to fit your setup.

abstract = {To complement existing compiler-optimization methods we propose a programming model and a runtime system called BMDFM (Binary Modular DataFlow Machine), a novel hybrid parallel environment for SMP (Shared Memory Symmetric Multiprocessors), that creates a data-dependence graph and exploits parallelism of user application programs at run time. This thesis describes the design and provides a detailed analysis of BMDFM, which uses a dataflow runtime engine instead of a plain fork-join runtime library, thus providing transparent dataflow semantics on the top virtual machine level. Our hybrid approach eliminates disadvantages of the parallelization at compile-time, the directive based paradigm and the dataflow computational model. BMDFM is portable and is already implemented on a set of available SMP platforms. The transparent dataflow paradigm does not require parallelization and synchronization directives. The BMDFM runtime system shields the end-users from these details.},

macOS Tahoe drops ASIF disk images - because apparently we needed ANOTHER file format acronym to remember! But hey, near-native VM speeds might make the learning curve worth it 🚀

Does any one have link to the source of the original Joe Armstrong’s JAM (Joe’s Abstract Machine) for the original #Erlang before BEAM came about? JAM was a stack machine, BEAM is a register Machine. Just trying to understand how it operated, I understand it did some interesting things with the stack. #stackmachines #abstractmachine #virtualmachine #programminglanguages

I cannot install #vmware and #virtualbox on #ubuntu 25.04, it's driving me nuts. I need a simple #virtualmachine solution to test some other platforms

yk what i'll just tell you what's wrong

even when i select the "no passthrough please" option, when the systemd output is on screen it ocasionally says something along the lines of "the gpu is already bound to vfio" which leads me to believe that the boot option is not working bc it's not letting the host use what i'm passing through to it. oddly enough i can't use virt-manager when i'm not in passthrough mode

yea i need help pls help me

(edit: I FIXED IT it's all good go check the latest version of the file :3 the structure was totally off but it's fine now)

@governa kool, I hope it will also be distributed as #flatpak #package. It would have the same limitations as flatpak version of #gnomeboxes but for the most basic usage of spinning up #virtualmachine without any special network interfaces or other stuff that requires privilaged user intervention.

Karton is KDE's answer to Gnome Boxes

A quick, easy, GUI Virtual Machine Manager. Though in its early stages, it looks quite promising

The Reseller program has ended, but the writing was on the wall since 2023 due to acquisition.

Anyone here knows some "replacements" for VMware?
