I wasn't aware of the ads PC Connection made in the 80s and 90s with raccoons, but they're definitely great, and this is an excellent write-up on them: technologizer.com/home/2025/04

#MyRetroComputerJourney Began with my dad's IBM PC-XT. This was the first computer I learned to program on using IBM BASICA. It was already a bit of a relic by the early 90's when I was using it. The programs you could write used crude text I/O but it was magic.

Nice article from #ArsTechnica about some key #1980s British computers that Americans may not know about. #ComputingHistory in #Britain in the 1980s was very different from in the US, with a strong #8bit #cassstte based ecosystem. Also phenomenally effective for encouraging a generation of young computer #coders. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2023/0 #Computing #ComputerGames #80sComputers #ComputerScience
