#Amphipods are not #shrimps (ok, one group is called "skeleton shrimps", but they don't even resemble shrimps tbh. and Dulcibella is not from that one).
And this thing looks pretty normal for deep-water Amphipods:

Experimental cages, plastic pipes covered by nets, placed in a natural stream. The pipes are attached to concrete bricks to keep them inundated. These cages were used to measure leaf litter processing by amphipods in natural streams.
