Back to using Sway on NixOS with Home Manager. It was the same combo that sort of burned me out on nixos last year, but I've got a bit more confidence now in the whole stack to make it work. I love the i3/sway way of doing things, and I can't really get the same experience anywhere else, so it's back WMs for a while.

This time, I'll experiment with writing my dotfiles in their native format before delegating home manager to hold onto their state, I'll ask home manager to do less overall so it doesn't do dumb things like step on my gtk config on every rebuild, and I'll slowly build the system up over a longer period of time instead of like in a weekend.

Slower, simpler, and hopefully less nixos-rebuild switch calls.

I'm also using nwg shell for the common UI components and settings managers, which is fantastic by the way. It solves needing to learn an entire esoteric config language for every program in your system, and the final look and feel is very cohesive. Nwg-panel has me sold on just that alone.

‘AI’ are emerging properties from a stupidly complex system. Nobody has the faintest idea of where this properties emerge from.

Even funnier, nobody has any theory of how they work, as in, no one has a valid model of them.

As complex as they may be, LLMs are still a far cry from any decent biological brain like structure.

The family reunion [for my adoptive family] is this weekend. The last time I attended a reunion was probably in 2007. I got married in 2008. I never had a spouse or boyfriend or friend to attend with me. Cousins within my age bracket rarely ever attended & if they did, they either hid away reading a book or were very much better than I at small talk, connecting with distant relatives they probably won't see again till next year. My grandmother was alive & I attended most of the reunions with her. I wanted to. Reunions were typically held at a state park where I could go on brief walks, hikes, play with a camera without making others [or me] feel weird. Late last year, I learned I have biological half-siblings... I'm not going to the a-family reunion this year, though it's been years... it somehow seems so wrong that I would be attending yet another family reunion without my siblings.

Nach dem Wahlabend gestern war mein Kopf beim Aufstehen ziemlich voll und das nicht nur mit schönen Gedanken.

Ich bin also zum ersten Mal seit langer Zeit dem Rat von #JuliaCameron, Autorin von "The Artist's Way" gefolgt und habe sogenannte "Morning Pages" geschrieben. Also drei Seiten lang alles, was mir durch den Kopf ging, ungefiltert aufs Papier gebracht. Manche sagen auch "Brain Dump" dazu.

拥有就是祛魅的开始。一直心心念念的Tombow ABT全套终于在眼一闭心一横的瞬间下单了，之后就感觉心里空空落落，仿佛一名运动员捡到了金牌。在收到货的那天，我也没有急着拆箱，开心，但也没那么开心。最终把所有笔整理完毕后，拍了一张照片，同时心里有个声音一直在提醒自己不要让它吃灰。

现在回顾这个思想历程：从“做梦都想拥有”到“不要让它吃灰”，我想，可能我们有时候憧憬的只是一个状态，即拥有、得到的状态，而对于拥有之后该怎么使用却毫无想法。
