My last one is a notice of valuation from the #tasmanian #government .
Its for a property on #BrunyIsland , according to #RealEstate websites a similar size bit of land now costs $320,000 to buy without any improvements.

On #BrunyIsland in #Tasmania, we found these
#KangarooPaw #Flowers #Blooming in the gardens of a #BrunyIslandCheese This was of course after having Cheese and beer made of the cheese waste for breakfast! #BloomScrolling
A close up of a kangaroo paw with a small bloom. A small silk from the spider web hangs between the paws fingers. The background is blurred and mostly green, while the paw is red contrasting in the foreground.A close up of a kangaroo paw with a small bloom. THE OUTDOOR MUSEUM…
We were coming back from Cloudy Bay, a south-facing surfing beach on South Bruny Island when I saw this decrepit farm building standing alone in a grassy field. Having some weird attraction to dilapidated buildings I was compelled to stop the van, get out and photograph it.

In their neglect, slow decay and eventual collapse there is something indefinable about buildings like this. They silently speak to us of times gone, farming families gone and new priorities that arise with the passage of time. How long has this building stood? What was its purpose?

ON THE TRAIL…
A sea kayak glides along the coast at the far southern end of South Bruny Island. Adamsons Peak on the far south coast, still with snow around the summit, peeks over the hills on the horizon.

Very special bird today!

It's the endangered Swift Parrot ! (also Bird of the Year).

In fact, it's THREE endangered Swift Parrots.

I can also confirm, when they take flight, they are indeed swift. (someone over the road spooked all the birds and these guys were gone in a flash - it wasn't me that spooked them, I was lying on the wet ground).

Three parrots on the ground. The front on is in focus, and is almost entirely green, but has a blue patch at the front of the head, red above and below the beak down to the chest, red wing roots, blue flight feathers, red and blue tail.
It is also somewhat round for a parrot.

Bruny Island so far today.

Obtained cheese, bread, honey, visited a lighthouse (took the tour), saw a giant penguin letterbox, found a very furry echidna then ate said bread, cheese and honey.

Throwback to our visit to Tas in June.

#BrunyIsland #Tasmania

A photo of a strip of land, on it many many flights of stairs. The photo is taken at the top of the stairs looking down the middle of the strip. On the left is ocean with rolling waves and on the right is calm inlet water. There are no buildings in the immediate picture. It is a landscape of a famous part of the island.
