The #USA may want to acquire #Greenland by directly paying each Greenlander up to 100,000 $US. Such an offer could make it tempting for many of them to possibly vote first in favor of formal independence from #Denmark (which in the past had a truly #colonial agenda), and then - second step - to become a so-called "unincorporated U.S. territory" similar to #PuertoRico , #Guam or American #Samoa .Such a deal would cost the U.S. tax payer only 6 billion $US.
