: are , horizontal community using to build alternatives and , & resistance collectives.
courses in recognising, understanding and effectively combatting narcissistic behaviour should be mandatory for all of us, as well as lessons.
by undermining the ruling and billionaire class' narcissistic capitalist system by building alternatives will make it collapse by itself.

Grateful for community support that made 17th Century Tottenville History Comes Alive possible:
•COSHSI grant (1999)
• NY Public Library workshops
• NY State Assembly recognition as "Staten Island Woman in History" (2002)
• Local TV coverage including that of Gabe Pressman on WNBC

The interactive workshops revealed stories and connections no archive could provide.

Over the past year, we’ve been working with residents and neighbours of Summervale and Crossbank towers in Oldham, to capture their stories of what it was like to live and work in and around the towers. The result of that work is finally public, and you can explore it by going to towersoldham.uk!

What makes communities so difficult to reach for digital inclusion and local history projects? In our new blog post, we take a dive into the obstacles we faced when working with a housing association to put together a digital community history project in Oldham.

Here's our thinking-in-progress for @LivingWithMachines about how the word 'trolley' changed over time, from a low, flat cart to a steam or electric trolley-car or tram...

Have you seen examples of trolleys in 19th articles that could complicate our chosen 'senses'? zooniverse.org/projects/bldigi

I'm working on possible oral history project focusing on the story of an Indian American immigrant community organization.

I'm hoping it'll be kind and celebratory, but not hagiographic.

Any interesting projects I should be looking at for inspiration?

It was a lot of work but well worth the effort. We’ve had a wonderful response from the community. #Stockton Over The Years Vol 4 We had our monthly research day in Saturday and had our biggest turnout yet as many people came to not only buy the book but to ask us about local history, and their family. But also to share information about their families and their stories. #CommunityHistory

A white painted wooden house from 1920's in Western District, Murihiku Southland, Aotearoa NZ. There are bushes and gardens all around it, with a large bush most obscuring the front door. The large front window panes have a sun and rain shelter built out over them, there are breathing slats in the roof and a double chimney which can be seen. The front porch over the front entrance is supported by a group of 3 pillars on each side. There is a lean-to on the right of the building, which is where we believe the old Telephone Exchange was run from. This house was built by and owned by the Mouat family for nearly 100 years.

An old wooden church with a belfry is being repaired by men up several ladders, one of which is balanced on the back deck of an equally old truck, parked out the front entrance of the building. Various vehicles and people can be seen around the peripheral, working on the repairs, which include replacing the roof. This is a B & W photo, hills and bushes are in the background of the old church.

Growth was the name of the game for Ōtautau Carrier and Inventor Harry Laurie, he started out with just 1 truck and ended up with 8 some 34 years later. Part of our community history collections in the new Central & Western Murihiku Southland Archive. Check out more here: ehive.com/collections/202139/o

Seven of Harry Laurie's eight red trucks which were a familiar sight around the town and district of Ōtautau during 1930's-1970's. They are various makes and models, some Dodges plus others. They are all lined up in a row in his yard which has the back of the Ōtautau Hotel as a backdrop and some very large trees. A shed sits to the right of the photo/yard.

Sepia tone photo of a large old wooden building, which is labelled as: "Waiau Dairy Factory operated at Eastern Bush about 1902-1910 making 40 tons of cheese p.a." There is equipment on the left front under the veranda, a covered waggon about centre of the photo, and another building behind, to the right side. Clouds are in the sky and the building has 4 chimney tops that you can see, and a sign that sits above the main door to the right of the picture, but it cannot be read as writing is too small.

@timlichtenberg Kia ora from here in kiwiland! Whichever one or ones you feel most at home on with your local timeline. I've a more personal interest account on the large .social instance as well as a more mahi (work) based one on .digipres.club as my job is digital preservation of #Aotearoa #NZ #Heritage & #CommunityHistory

I personally chose not to be on one focused solely on my country as my interests & mahi are global. Best of luck, it's awesome here. 😊
