It's day 36. Whether today is the last day remains to be seen. Been getting a workout pumping fluid into the transmission—almost two gallons so far.

I have started the engine. It starts! It's not running super great just yet, I think largely due to the low transmission fluid, so hopefully a few more cycles of getting the ATF circulating will help smooth things out. A red gallon jug of automatic transmission fluid sits on the ground underneath my 2003 BMW 530iT, which is up on QuickJack lifts. A hose with a hand pump runs from the mouth of the transmission fluid bottle into the fill hole on the side of the ZF 5HP19 automatic transmission.

Using a flagpole was much easier than previous methods, but the aluminum flagpole is kinda bendy. I connected some string from the window in the middle to take some weight off the pole, so hopefully it'll hold through summer. I also taped around the edges, so the tarp should catch less wind in general.

Here's Plan A, for my Thunderbolt/USB4 eNIC.

Most of the parts have been delivered. I'm still waiting for some 12V DC-DC boosters - the M.2 to PCIe x4 adaptor needs an external 12V supply.

I hope that i don't have to flash custom firmware onto that ASM2464PD, in order to handle PCIe instead of NVMe devices.

I'll use the 5V USB supply, which is present at the regulator in the bottom right, by the 4 large unpopulated pads - it's an AMS1117, its left pin is GND, the right pin is 5V Vin - that's where i'll tap-off.

…i hope to save at least 60 bucks on a 10gig SFP+ NIC (10GBase-T is not an option, because an active transceiver might overheat the cheap Chinese [Realtek-based] switch, it MUST be DAC)

Nachdem ja jetzt Bogen wie auch Pfeile fertig sind, bin ich heute damit natürlich zum Training aufgeschlagen, genau wie meine Mitbastlerin.

Und, es macht schon Spaß mit beidem zusammen zu schießen. heute auf Entfernungen von 15, 20, 25 und 30 Meter.

Noch nicht alles so wie ich es möchte, aber doch alles so gut, das ich doch zufrieden bin.
