A sunlit bamboo leaf with another bamboo leaf casting diagonal stripes of shadows across it. The center of the leaf is at the top left, a bit away from the edges of the photo. The stiff and straight leaves fan out all around. Because the leaves are folded lengthwise, the shadow makes a stripe that takes on a V-shape. This creates light and black V-shaped stripes.

This is not a daisy, but an Erigeron Karvinskianus. The flower is as big as a daisy, but it is actually a plant of about 30 cm high with small, fine leaves and with a lot of these flowers. The Erigeron blooms in the Netherlands from May to October and is a nice plant for the border. I use it a lot, especially in small gardens because of the long flowering period.
