Had a go at making a 3D version of my acid rain platformer based on a suggestion from @el2iot2. I quite like the result, but unfortunately this little demo is about as big as it can get: performance tanks if there are too many "ground" blocks on screen, and it's a long way from being enough to make a satisfying level. Still a fun project, though, and a good chance to try out GDevelop's new 3D editor view.

Back in 2022, my son (now 9) needed a homeschool computer to just do basic stuff like pop on zoom classes.

I almost just got a cheap chromebook, but the #hp Dev One was just released partnered with @system76 and I had to get one. So decided to go overboard and get it.

Other than the hinge issue that I fixed, the laptop has been great. Deal with daily abuse from a child, and he's now even developing 3d games with #gdevelop on it.

It's also one of the testing computers for #nixbook #linux

#GDevelop is killing it. The new 3D editor looks really good, and the Advanced 3D Features plugin looks sweet. It is giving me the itch to get back into gamedev - once Christmas gift builds are done, I'm going back to my game #bHopper.

My 9 year old son is playing around with #gdevelop to try and learn how to make a basic game.

The platform told him that he had "44 AI credits" and that AI could help him make .a game.

He came to me frustrated because "the AI ate all my credits and I'm left with a weirdly broken program"

Boy learned an important #ai lesson today.

The results for GDevelop Big Game Jam #8 have been released, and "Don't Let Them Take Control!" came in 23rd out of 352 overall! I'm super happy with the result, especially considering that the game made it into the top ten in multiple subcategories.

I've got a new game out! In "Don't Let Them Take Control!" you play as a penguin throwing rocks at windows to prevent them yoinking the buttons that allow you to do anything. It is most certainly just a silly game about a penguin and some windows and not a paper-thin analogy for something nerdy.
