So apparently my #paddleboard company was bought out by another outdoor company (Solo Stove) that is *also* not doing well, so I can't get the replacement part that I ordered and paid for on 7/3.
I'm gonna have to talk to my bank and get a dispute going and a charge back from them for not delivering what I ordered. That takes about 30 days.
I sent in a warranty request; I've also sent six emails and called about 15 times and haven't been able to get ahold of anybody to replace the fin on my board.
Lack of a fin makes the board too difficult to control. Today was an example of going out on choppy water and finding it difficult to keep the board going forward. It was windy and choppy, and difficult to get around.
So, I sat in a quiet water along the edge of the lake for quite a bit. Eh. I saw a muskrat, dragonflies, a blue heron, and a bunch of little fish. Also some turtles in the distance.
Still, being on/near the water is one of the best down-regulatory activities for my nervous system, and I'm not going to not do it, but I'm pissed as hell that this company has gone under yet they are still advertising their shit everywhere and sending me at least two emails a day about buying more shit from them.
I ordered what might be the right size/shape replacement fin, but I won't know until it gets here, from a third-party on eBay.
I doubt I'll get any response from the actual company, even though my board is still under warranty.
I'm actually considering having my credit card reverse the charges on the entire set up, because I bought it only last summer, and if they're not available to honor the warranty? They should give me money back.
Total Karen mode. I don't mind. This shit's expensive and they haven't had the decency to say anything to anybody about not supporting us anymore. 🤬🤬🤬
