Malaysia Rail Link (#MRL) clarified that the East Coast Rail Link (#ECRL) #passenger #train will travel at a maximum speed of 160km/h, dismissing claims from recent media reports suggesting that it could more than double its #speed to 351km/h.

The entire #rail #infrastructure, including #foundation works, rail #track, #railway #signalling system, and #rollingstock, had been specifically developed based on a design speed of less than 200km/h.

Sad news, the Magnetic Reference Laboratory is closing. #MRL tapes are used for the calibration of #analog #tape machines. This is the end of an era and raises a question as to whether any other company had the equipment, knowhow and willingness to fill the gap. They close at the end of the year.

Rapid KL is informing its users that all LRT, MRT and Monorail stations will open from 4:00am on 31 August 2023 in conjunction with Merdeka Day (Independence Day) celebration. The celebration will be at Dataran Putrajaya.

Users are advised to use TnG card (instead of buying token) and ensure that the balance on the card is sufficient to ensure smooth journey onboard the train.

Rapid KL is informing that selected train station will extend its operation on 30 August 2023 until 2am on 31 August 2023 in conjunction with Ambang Merdeka (countdown to independence day anniversary) celebration.

Involved stations are:
- Ampang Park (KJL & PYL)
- Bukit Bintang (KGL & MRL)
- KLCC (KJL)
- Masjid Jamek (AGL, SPL, KJL)
- Pasar Seni (KJL & KGL)
- Persiaran KLCC (PYL)

Other stations will be exit-only.
