I learned that my camera wasn't a fan of -5 either, so when I a few days later went to photograph the frozen nature, I kept it snug and warm between photos.

Reflecting the city. Shortly after the rent-a-cop at the WSDOT overflow lot told us [falsely] that we weren’t allowed to take pictures in the parking lot.

*edited* Initially I thought the fenced lot was part of the Coast Guard base, but it turns out it is owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation, is very much public property, albeit lightly access restricted. Government agencies and their agents will always try to bolster themselves by restricting us, which we mustn’t let happen.
