Our 42in large format printer in the middle of printing a poster. The title is visible, reading "The cost of Doing Epic", and some text and bar chart are just becoming starting to show as it leaves the printer.

There's a red bar and a green bar, but the green bar doesn't go as high up as the red one...

Ended up making a custom shoe type holder for the brushes. Complete with a reminder to put the brush back when done. 😁 Sound on for the satisfying sound. 🗡️

It’s a big bummer that there is no #makerspace in the east side suburbs of #seattle

I looked at checking the three in Seattle out last night but with traffic it was going to be an hour’s drive one-way.

During the my local makerspace Thursday night hang out I finally got around to engraving the 2 Harbor Freight bench brushes I had bought a while back. I had sanded the brushes previously and finished them with some boiled linseed oil. Got to use the Lightburn camera I had set up last weekend on the laser machine. Used a cardboard lasercut holding jig.

How many watts can a trace handle? Intern Sam at our #fablab at @waag put it to the test. Design in #Kicad, prototypes on a small cnc milling machine (Modela mdx20). 0.25 mm tapered balnose milling bit. PCB FR1 copper clad (phenolic paper) with a copper thickness of 35µm.

Hat jemand Empfehlungen für einen preiswerten und zuverlässigen #Laser-Schneider für die Schule. Bei der Schnittfläche reicht mir was in der Größenordnung von 400x400mm^2 und schneiden will ich vor allem Sperrholz und MDF (vielleicht bis 10 oder 12mm) und transparentes Acryl wär gut, Metall muss nicht sein.

Hosted our first ever #RepairCafe at the local #makerspace - success! Saved a cordless drill, vacuum, and electronic cat toy from the landfill. A small turnout, but a first event that proved the value and got everyone excited for the next one. Slowly building a #solarpunk future one avoided-landfilling at a time! #SolarPunkSunday
