I suppose in that regard it is as auditable as Signal, who, as we know, have been pretty unresponsive when it comes to making up-to-date source for their server code available 🤷🏻

Pears are simmering (in lemonade) - I picked about another dozen today, and three of them were damaged a bit, so needed to be dealt with. Two were ripe enough that I ate a couple of slices.

And I've put the bins out, including the new big food waste bin. Let's see if the bin men take that!

Follow up: The pears were too ripe to peel and poach. We quartered them; trimmed out the bruises, stems, and seeds; and threw them in the crockpot for the day. Inspired by some apple butter recipes, I added a bit of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and lemon zest at the start. Late afternoon, I mashed them with my potato masher and then stuck my immersion blender in the pot. This concoction has passed my wife's taste test as being very applesauce-like.

I have way too many ripe pears, so if anyone has brilliant recipes for what to do with them, I'm all ears. There's a limit to how many I can just eat straight up.
