Granted it doesn't have #telnet and the head maintainer @landley explicitly endorsed #dropbear (a lightweight #SSH server & client) instead, but in my experiements ( @OS1337, based off @w84death 's #Floppinux ) allowed me to quickly cobble together a <1.440kB boot image (incl. >200kB for #ISOLINUX alone!) that does an 80×25 MDA console both on VGA & Serial (@ 9600/8/N1)…

I have #SSH access to quite a few #Servers some #Asterisk systems, #WebHosting servers with over 600 websites and more.

I am NOT connecting to those servers, the thought just popped into my mind that I "could".

As one wise man said, "with great power comes great responsibility!" .. to not connect to said servers.

Would it be safer to only allow a seperate user (with no access to important files) to login using ssh (only with key of course), and then use su to become my regular user, then allowing my regular user to login with ssh directly?

EDIT:
I will first make that user home folder unwriteable by that user.
Then I will create a wrapper script and set that script as the user login shell.
That script will essentially only run /usr/bin/su - myregularuser

Nach 25 Jahren Webentwicklung habe ich mir nun gestern endlich mal ein paar SSH-Shortcuts und Anmeldeschlüssel im Terminal zurechtgelegt, um schneller ohne Passworteingabe an die Kommandozeile meiner externen Kisten zu kommen: All-Inkl-Webspace, Uberspace, Runner-Linux-Kiste im Keller, usw.
