I bought one of those little #Korg Nu:Tekt oscilloscopes (the sort where you have to assemble it yourself) to use with the #Stylophone DF-8 filter. The filter doesn't have its own LFO, so I wanted something that could produce one to modulate the cutoff frequency. It's loads of fun! Pretty easy to put together, even for my middle-aged fingers, and the LFO range extends into audible frequencies. Combined with the Bandstop+ filter, you can get some really cool noises... #GearSquad #Synth #Analogue

Just had a chance to noodle with the Gaia 2 running through the DF-8, and it's NICE! It has a better bodied sound with the patch I was using (a sort-of stabby-upper-register-arp-thing with pan delay added after the fact) and didn't lose as much with some pre-self-oscillating resonance dialled in. The Bandstop+ is a really great filter, I love its curve - it has two different resonance peaks which just work so well. 1/2

I tried a little improvisation on the #Stylophone with an ostinato recorded on a loop pedal. This little thing definitely is expressive 😍 It's a small #dawless session recorded in a few minutes, but I may polish the idea a little more to put together a piece of #music.

I got a nice present from my partner. Definitely she knows me well! A #Stylophone, that is a minimalist monophonic #synth that you play touching the keyboard with a stylus. It’s a toy, but it has a little vibrato that can be very expressive, especially when coupled with external effects. I played it a little this evening and this thing is amazing 😍
